Electro Textiles Project Kit

Electro Textiles has been specially designed so that electronics can be used in textiles. They allow lighting effects to be added to textiles designs without any soldering.The system uses ‘conductive thread’ which is a thread that can be used like cotton thread but conducts like a wire. This has the benefit of large, easy to stitch connection points and clearly marked terminals which show the battery polarity.The LEDs are super small and are easily stitched in by hand.  The system is simple.  Stitch in a battery holder and connect it to the LEDs using conductive thread.  The parts are small and they are even washable, but make sure you remove the battery.

MP3 Mono Amplifier Project Kit

This audio amplifier kit can be used with any personal stereo equipment, including MP3 players.  It uses a TBA820M audio amplifier IC which can output 1.6W of power. The kit is supplied with a PP3 battery clip and can run off any voltage from 3 to 16 volts. Now supplied with pre-built jack cable.

Timed Night Light Project Kit

The colour changing LED on this kit turns on when it goes dark and stays on for a period of time.This makes a good night light and because the LED is only on for a small amount of time the batteries last much longer. There is an on board trimmer to set the light level at which the LED turns on and another trimmer to set how long the LED stays on for. 

The maximum duration is about 30 minutes. When set to 15 minutes and activated once a night the batteries will last two months.

Squeezy Torch Project Kit

The squeezy torch is an incredibly simple kit. It requires no soldering and can be built by people who have no electronics experience at all. Once built the torch is turned on by squeezing/squashing the torch.  

This compresses the foam core which causes the legs of the LED to touch the battery, turning it on.When the torch is no longer being squeezed the foam pushes the legs of the LED back away from the battery turning the torch off. 

This is a great project for teachers who want to introduce some electronics, but want to keep it simple and make sure the students take home something really useful.

Record Playback

This project allows a short (10 second) message to be recorded and played back at the push of a button. There is one button to play the message and another to re-record the message which can be done over and over again.

The project includes a status LED which indicates that recording is in progress or that playback has completed. Both the speaker and microphone are PCB mounted so the only flying leads are for the battery holder which takes 2 AA batteries.Because the project shuts down when it is not in use the batteries will last a very long time. An interface connector is available for more advanced users that wish to access the control signals. Requires x2 AA batteries, available separately.
